As A One-Time Resident. .
As A One-Time Resident. . . Of the state of Minnesota (Bloomington for 6 months in 1967-68, near the old Metropolitan Stadium), I think it's only right to take it upon myself to nominate some potential independents who might serve as the state's junior U.S. Senator while the world waits for the winner of the election between Walter Mondale and Norm Coleman to be officially certified.
Normally, I wouldn't say anything at all. But after that absolute disgrace of a political rally masquerading as a memorial service, I figure anything goes.
Here's the preliminary list I'll be forwarding to Gov. Ventura:
Prince Rogers Nelson;
Ex-Replacements front man, Paul Westerberg;
A rotating troika consisting of the founding members of Husker Du;
Kent Hrbek (Kirby Puckett being compromised at the moment);
Jerry Lundegaard (as played by William H. Macy in Fargo);
John Madden;
Winona Ryder;
Kevin Sorbo (of Hercules TV fame); and
Bob Dylan
