Cuba Libre'
Last week, I neglected to link to this New York Times piece that told the story of how Cuban authorities were preventing the family of New York Yankees pitcher Jose Contreras from leaving Cuba. Earlier this evening, we got good news that his family has defected from that island prison. The pitcher is on his way to meet his family now.

During Ronald Reagan's funeral I explained to my 8 year old son that there used to be a wall in Germany with soldiers who would shoot anyone who tried to leave that country. Hopefully it won't be long before we can take a Carribean cruise with a stop in Havana and we can talk about that awful man who kept these wonderful people as prisoners on their island.

Well said. Too bad many of the media and Hollywood elites don't see the same thing. Congrats to Jose and his family.
