Chris Chelios' Table Manners

full_hockey2.jpg

Chris Chelios was enjoying a nice meal at an upscale restaurant in Las Vegas this week with Jennifer Capriati and some other luminaries when he thought it might be a good idea to start smashing dinner plates.. Sound crazy? That’s what the management thought, too, and they gave him a game misconduct. Chelios protested that it was okay since he was Greek and this was "a tradition."

Hmm, wonder if Kerry Fraser was the Maitre D’.

Sadly, it’s not the first time Chelios has displayed questionable dining etiquette. Not long ago, he was publicly rebuked for – you couldn’t make this up – tormenting a live lobster he pulled from the tank at Morton’s of Chicago.

I heard Kirk Cameron used to do that same plate bit on the set of Growing Pains until Alan Thicke stepped in. Wonder if Thicke applied the same fatherly guidance in this episode at FIX as he did on the show?

Does no one else but me remember the episode of Three's Company when Larry's Greek family packed Jack's restaurant and at the end of the night smashed all the plates?
