Red Sox Provincialism
If you felt any empathy for Red Sox fans after Saturday night's demolition at the hands of "Los Yanquis," just read this hit job about the Angels-Red Sox series that appeared in last week's LA Weekly:
October calls for serious measures, and last week my friends and I, displaced Red Sox fans, had no qualms about ditching our jobs and significant others to attend the American League Division series. But for two days we did feel the shame of being in Anaheim, the Mickey Mouse of major-league cities.
It gets worse from there.
Know this: I'd trade Summer in Boston for Winter in So Cal any day.
Thanks to So Cal native and Angels fan Matt Welch for the link.
