Bring Me The Head Of Tim McCarver!
A couple of weeks back, I mentioned that Al Leiter was so good in the Fox booth during the ALCS, that Tim McCarver ought to be polishing his resume. Now that Leiter is no longer in the booth with McCarver and Joe Buck for the World Series, I miss Leiter all the more, and McCarver is beginning to grate on me.
Apparently, I'm not the only who feels that way:
Game after endless game, the biggest braying blowhard in baseball blathers on and on. The fact that he doesn't know what he's talking about 99% of the time doesn't deter him. He'll go on and on about some minute point that nobody cares about hour after hour. He'll miss important plays while lecturing long-suffering listeners on the importance of the position of a pitcher's ring finger. Many times he'll even bring it up during the next game (even several more games!)

When I used to watch baseball, Tim McCarver was the broadcaster I hated most. He was indeed a blowhard, he definitely talked out of his ass the majority of the time, and what's worse, he was blatantly anti-Braves in *everything* he said about the team. One of my fondest memories of him is Deion Sanders dousing him in the locker room during the playoffs.
McCarver can't lose his job quickly enough. Too bad it probably won't be anytime soon.
