A note to our friends at league HQ -- you might want to start working with bloggers to promote this service. It would go a long way toward boosting the viewership numbers, which admittedly have been dismal so far (only 42 views for the above video so far).
You also might want to start to use the social networking tools embedded in YouTube to contact the other members that have been pumping hockey videos onto the Web. Even better, why not offer raw video footage to those folks, then give them carte blanche to edit and distribute their own highlight packages?
Because if you want this to work, you're going to have to realize that YouTube is more than just an online video repository, it's a social networking tool. And to take full advantage of a social networking tool, it usually means you'll have to be, you know, social.
