I'm at home watching the Kings host the Ducks in LA, and I have to give some plaudits to Kings defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky. Just a few minutes ago a nice brawl developed in front of the Kings net after a whistle.
With his teammates in trouble, Visnovsky didn't hesitate as he dived into the pile to pull out a random Duck -- in this case, Travis Moen.
You know, this Travis Moen:
Wow. That Visnovsky is a gutsy little guy. He grabbed hold of Moen and wrestled him to the ice.
Needless to say, Moen was not amused, and was ready to go once he popped back on his skates. Then again, he's not going to beat on a little guy, and once he realized he was facing off against Visnovsky, his attention turned right back to the scrum.
Undaunted, Visnovsky followed Moen back into the pile to keep the enforcer off his Kings teammates. Later, I lost track of Visnovsky, only to see him grappling with Chris Pronger. Luckily for little Lubo, Derek Armstrong intervened long enough to distract Progner from rubbing Visnovsky out of existence.
To clean things up, the refs sent Moen, Pronger, Armstrong and Aaron Miller to the box, which led to another amusing moment as Moen starting jawing with Miller between penalty boxes. As to what they were really saying, I can't say, but it looked to me as if Moen was complaining about Visnovsky, with Miller not quite buying Moen's story.
Here's hoping Lubo keeps his head up the rest of the night.
