New Hi-Def Scoreboard at Verizon Center
After work on Tuesday I headed over to Verizon Center to catch a couple of periods of the Caps-Canes game. I only stayed long enough to catch the first goal, a sweet little give and go between Tomas Fleischman and Mike Green. The only other significant item to report was that Jakub Klepis was on the hot seat and he knew it.
Nobody needed to tell me anything, it was just pretty clear from the opening faceoff that Klepis was pressing hard to make something happen. Not that much did.
The one thing I did want to pass along was the jaw-dropping impact that the new scoreboard had on me. Sitting in the media room before the game, Nate Ewell told me that I was going to have a hard time watching the game once I saw it, and he was more than right.
Here's some quick footage of the new screen I took from the press box. And no, there isn't anything wrong with your speakers as I've muted the audio:
I'll be back out at Verizon on Friday night when the Caps host the Flyers.
