Big Day for Boudreau, Caps

The corner the Caps have been rounding since Thanksgiving has been turned. The Capitals have officially removed the "interim" tag from coach Bruce Boudreau. Tarik at Capitals Insider noted earlier that "he has quickly gained the respect of the dressing room and appears to have the team heading in the right direction."

GM George McPhee said that;

We just wanted an opportunity to watch him at this level and see how would do, watch him action. Some people change when they get to this level. He hasn't. We really like the way he took control and he's got our team playing well.

And of course the players responded by beating divisional rivals Tampa Bay 3-2 in regulation, thus gaining their first win under Coach Boudreau.

Boudreau will face a real test with the Caps next five games, as they face Pittsburgh, Ottawa back-to-back, Boston, and Montreal. If he really wants to kick things off, there's no better way that to take some games from these good teams.
