North America's Best Ballpark

ESPN's Page 2 has completed its tour of all the ballparks in Major League Baseball. The winner: Pittsburgh's PNC Park.

ESPN's Jim Caple explains:

The Pirates re-signed Andy Van Slyke instead of Barry Bonds. They signed Derek (Operation Shutdown) Bell to a $9 million contract. They signed Pat Meares to a $15 million contract. They are en route to their 11th consecutive losing season. And they just traded their best player.

But at least the team and the city got the ballpark right.

I'm not sure what to think of the rankings, especially since I've only been to seven of the parks on the list, but I am left with one inescapable thought: how is it that a city like Washington, D.C. doesn't have a big league ballpark? But then again, I've spent more than a few months explaining why that is.
