Please Step Away From The Keyboard, Mr. McErlain
I need a break. And I need one now. I know I've said this before, only to show up 12 or 24 hours later to jump back into the fray. But I mean it this time. A combination of new demands, work on a new home, and a serious re-evaluation of Off Wing and how I use it are all on the table -- and I'm going to have to step away to take care of it all. Now, don't worry. Like other bloggers before me, I've recruited a group of special guests to fill in while I'm away -- which is an odd way of putting it since physically I won't be going anywhere. Here's the lineup: Left Wing: Jeff Cooper -- Law professor at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Jeff writes the blog, Cooped Up, one of the best respected legal blogs around. Plus, he's a Mets fan, and it's time we added some more baseball coverage. Right Wing: Skip Oliva -- President and CEO of Citizens for Volutary Trade, and a frequent guest on national sports radio regarding sports law and anti-trust. If you live in Washington or subscribe to XM Radio, you've probably heard Skip interviewed by Steve Czaban. Center: Michael McCann -- visiting scholar/researcher at Harvard University and author of "Illegal Defense", a paper detailing the anti-competitive effects of banning teenagers from the NBA Draft. Defense: Jim McCarthy -- principal at McCarthy Communications, a Washington area PR firm specializing in crisis communications and crisis management. Jim advised Hootie Johnson and Augusta National on their PR strategy in the wake of Martha Burk's protests against the club. Filling the other slot on defense will be Rhode Island native Joe Tasca of Tasca's Take, an NHL blog that deserves more attention. Goalie: Who else but Canadian expat Ben Wright of the Net Files? The man can stop a puck in his sleep! My hiatus starts this evening as I head to New York to get a look at my new nephew. As always, thanks for reading. I ought to be back on Monday, August 9.
