Jones Sues BALCO's Conte

Looks like Olympic medalist Marion Jones is ready to go to court to protect her reputation:

Track star Marion Jones filed a defamation lawsuit Wednesday against the man whose company is at the center of a federal investigation into illegal steroid use among some of the nation's top athletes.

Jones is seeking $25 million in the suit against Victor Conte, alleging he tarnished her reputation when he went on national television to say the Olympic medalist had injected steroids.

One thing you can't deny Conte - he's a smart guy. If you read the ESPN the Mag. article of his, it becomes pretty clear that at least for the people he directly worked with (including Jones, but not Bonds) there is plenty of documentation of exactly what she took.

Fun legal fact: you can't be defamed if what is being said about you is true.
