Dick Pound Still Not Convinced
Well, the NHL finished its first round of steroids testing, and everybody came up clean. But WADA head Dick Pound, who famously claimed last year that one-third of all NHL players were using performance-enhancing drugs -- isn't buying it: "All we can do is keep drawing the attention of the public to its shortcomings and make sure the public understands that it's being fooled by the NHL when it says it has a serious testing program," Pound said. Truth be told, this is an issue that's gotten away from everybody, and I'm not sure that there's a solution. Trackback PingsTrackBack URL for this entry: CommentsOf course there's a solution. It involves drowning Dick Pound though, since he's the only person that THINKS it's that big a problem. Posted by:
The problem is that the NHL is fooling it's fans, and possibly themselves, into thinking there's nothing to be seen here. If they broadened their search to include other items, like the stimulants most people acknowledge are prevelant, or steroid masking agents, then I might feel more assured by their claims of a "clean" league.
